Loeke Verwijmeren

Loeke is an ambitious and composed midfielder playing for MHC Bennebroek. She’s looking forward to taking her game to the next level and playing for a college field hockey team starting in the Fall of 2026.

Level
Loeke has extensive experience competing at the higher regional levels of Dutch youth hockey, including the Eerste Klasse and Subtopklasse. She is a standout player and team captain for her team, looked upon for leadership.

Playing style
Loeke is a smart and composed midfielder with excellent field awareness and the ability to make quick, effective decisions. She also has experience as a defender. Loeke scans the field before receiving the ball, allowing her to pass accurately and keep the play moving with purpose. In possession, she is strong and secure, rarely losing the ball, and she uses her sweep pass effectively to switch play and create attacking opportunities. Loeke understands when to speed up play with a quick start or when to maintain possession to control the pace of the game. Defensively, she is alert and strong at intercepting passes, helping her team regain control and transition efficiently.

Academics
Loeke is currently enrolled in VWO, the highest level of Dutch secondary education, and is expected to graduate in June 2026.

Additional Information
Loeke frequently goes to the gym to work on her physical strength and conditioning, showing her commitment to improving her athletic performance and preparing herself for the demands of collegiate field hockey.

Loeke is excited to continue her field hockey and academic journey in the United States in the Fall of 2026. She’s looking forward to competing in a challenging environment, learning from new coaches, and contributing to her future college team’s success.
